Mourning local Realtor and Real Estate Commissioner Dan Murphy

Regionally and nationally prominent West Seattle Realtor Dan Murphy has died, according to an announcement on the Washington Association of Realtors’ Facebook page, which says he died at a hospital late last night, adding, “Dan was an active leader with the Realtor Association on the local, state, and national levels.” He also was a member of the Washington State Real Estate Commission. Mr. Murphy worked from the Windermere Fauntleroy office. Thanks to Larry Nitkey (from West Seattle’s other Windermere office) for the tip. No word on services so far; we’ll add that information when it’s available. Mr. Murphy was 60 years old.

My heart is so sad. First my dear friend Mitch Forrey and now sweet Dan. He was so much fun and just an all round good person. I will miss him greatly, and my heart goes out to you Dennis and your family. Anything, anything at all I can do, please call me.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. I’ve served with Dan, both on the Seatte KingCounty Reatlor & Washingto Realtor boards of directors. As a fellow Windermere broker, our paths intersected professionally and socially. I can’t think of a nicer man. My prayers are with you, Dennis, and your family.

We are both so sad of the loss of a great friend a to my sister Carole, and Dad to Emma and Elliott. His warm smile and great personality always made everyone happy to be around him. His generous concern for my mom and Cliff also was so kind and heartwarming. Dennis, you are a great Dad and friend, I know that this is a great loss. Our prayers are with you, and we hope you will be comforted knowing he is with our Heavenly Father.

Dan is with the angels now, and is at peace. I see his big smile, the spark in his eyes, and feel the kindness that always surrounded him.

He is the sole reason I moved from one real estate company to WRE Fauntleroy.

Dennis, know that you & your family are in my thoughts. May you find some solace during your heartache.
