West Seattle Crime Watch: 2 vehicles to watch for, plus a car prowl

Three West Seattle Crime Watch reports to share – two vehicle thefts from today (and a request to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicles), and a car prowl from earlier. The reports are after the jump:

First, Marcia reports a brown Saturn Outlook stolen from the 2600 block of 47th SW [map] on Tuesday afternoon: “If anyone sees it show up in their neighborhood all of a sudden, can you contact the police? They are looking for it.”

The other vehicle theft is from Domenica:

Our truck got stolen this morning between the hours of 3-4am. We live on the 8800 block of Fauntleroy Way SW [map]. It’s a metallic beige 1988 Chevy 1500 Half Ton pickup. Both doors have a decal that says Mid-Iowa Equipment. Looks like a couple of kids pulled up on junky razor scooters (left in my driveway) and decided to go on a joy ride. Please keep your eyes peeled!

And the car prowl is from Jessica:

I just wanted to report that my husband’s car (a 2000 GMC Yukon) was prowled sometime this weekend between Friday night and Sunday around 6pm. He noticed when he went to run a quick errand last night and the contents of his center console were strewn across the front seat and the rear driver’s side door wasn’t closed all the way. Fortunately we try not to keep anything of value in either of our cars, so the only thing that the “prowler” got away with was a cheap $5 phone charger. We live (in the 10100 block of) 32nd Pl SW [map], and the car was parked on the street. My husband was fairly certain that he had locked his car, but there weren’t any signs of forced entry. As far as I know none of our neighbors have had any problems.

Domenica, I’m sorry to hear about your truck. My daughters’ Razor scooters were stolen from our front porch over a month ago so I’m wondering if the ones left behind in your driveway were ours? Aside from the colored foam handles, they had light-up wheels. I’ll keep an eye out for your truck!

I had my car prowled last week. I live near the WS Junction and what the person took as my hand held GPS, a small bag of food and a brand new soldering iron that I use for my stained glass. I hadn’t even used the iron yet. I will keep an eye out for both of these vechicles in my travels in WS and other areas.

I know if I don’t reconize a vechicle parked overnight (or 24 hours)in my neighborhood I will go online and report it.

I had a car stolen once and it took three weeks for the police to call me and say they found it. They found it within a couple of miles from where it was stolen.

We live on 47th between findley and Juneau and our car was prowled last night. Not sure what they are looking for, I noticed that the owners manual was missing.

I live on Juneau and my cars were prowled also. they got my gps but that is it. I never reported it to the police because I didnt feel like having my gps stolen AND filling out paperwork. I will repost if I catch this jerk. I will keep him in my basement and we can all have a crack at him. wish me luck!

My brother’s 1990 light blue Nissan pick up was stolen on the early morning hours of 11/6/10. We live on the 3200 block of 36th ave SW. If anyone sees this vehicle in their neighborhood please call the police. It has a matching light blue canopy with chrome wheel wells and mag chrome wheels.
