Halloween? What Halloween? Christmas-lights show setup rolls on

You might remember that video from last year’s amazing music-synced Christmas lights display on a house by the Charlestown water towers. This is our first update from Jim Winder since May – he’s the mastermind, but the house with the display belongs to a friend. He sent this photo:

That’s from some work done over the weekend, and Jim explains: “I set up some of the new elements this past weekend just to make sure it was all going to work as planned. Hopefully in the next week or so, I will also have our website up. Looks like our ‘Lighting Ceremony’ will be on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 27th), though there will probably be some shows on that Friday.” Last year had about 10,000 lights, but this year, they’re going for more than 50,000, according to the update we published from Jim in May.

I just hope Jims friends neighbours are ok with the display. I remember talking to the Halloween “Pirate Ship” display family few years back. Their neighbours did light DPD’s complaint line on fire…

Thank you for doing this guys! I did make a donation last year and will make another one this year for sure!!! I love it!

I knew this was Jim as soon as I read the headline! Jim will produce another awesome light display.

I would be surprised if C&S’s neighbors had a problem with the display. Everyone always enjoyed the Gai’s family display and this is something that brings us all back to the wonderment of Christmas from our childhoods. What special memories for our generation of children to enjoy, too!

West Seattle is very lucky to have Jim. He would never brag, but I know he has been working on this last Christmas. He dosen’t even have time to come out to Maryland to visit his brother! Enjoy the show!

I know Jim from one of the support forums. He gets so much enjoyment from building this light show. And we have a great time watching and sharing with him. For both his display and our own. A whole group of people sharing and helping each other with our displays. And Jim is a great person to have on the forum. Jim has been hard at work with taking his display to the next step. He starts shortly after taking it down in January. Yes this is a year around hobby / passion for most of us.

Sorry, comment time is over.
