As summer sails closer to its sunset, it’s the return of the West Seattle Weekend Lineup, topped by the West Seattle Outdoor Movies finale showing of rainout-rescheduled “Star Trek,” at dusk Saturday night in the Hotwire Coffee (WSB sponsor) courtyard … There’s a summer finale tonight too, the last of the Outdoor Concerts at The Mount, with The Haggis Brothers, (optional) dinner at 5, (free) concert at 6 … But the weekend’s biggest event is Sunday morning on Alki, with Northwest Hope and Healing benefiting from the Alki Beach 5K Walk/Run (online signup deadline 11 am today!) … Even more going on – like Seattle Parks’ “Big Day of Play” on Saturday, with free shuttles from West Seattle – just click ahead for this week’s West Seattle Weekend Lineup, brought to you by Skylark Café and Club (with weekend delights including brunch both days, live music both nights)!
Thanks, Skylark Cafe and Club, for sponsoring the WSWL!

This meeting will gather input for the kiosk project specifically on the location, artwork and information to be placed on the art pieces. The new signage is intended to encourage people to get around the neighborhood by foot. The Rolling Community Meeting will end and be followed with a no-host lunch in the Alaska Junction neighborhood at 1 pm to discuss findings from the meeting. The Rolling Community Meeting is the last of numerous community meetings held over the past year. A brief overview of the project will be provided by the Feet First Program Coordinator, Max Hepp-Buchanan and local artist, Paul Sorey. Following the presentation, participants will carpool to the seven designated locations for in-depth discussion and understanding of the project area. Funded through a $99,000 grant from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, this project will establish the first kiosk and wayfinding system for West Seattle neighborhood. The project will be completed by October 2010 and complements the Neighborhood on Foot Trails Map created by Feet First in 2008.
