Happening now: ‘Wayne’s World’ at West Seattle Outdoor Movies

Got your seat at West Seattle Outdoor Movies (courtyard next to Hotwire Online Coffeehouse [WSB sponsor]) yet? “Wayne’s World” is onscreen at dusk; live music before the movie; and if you bring a few bucks for the nonprofit-benefiting raffle, you get a chance at prizes including the one you see above – a framed “Wayne’s World” poster donated by Wallflower Custom Framing! As of right now, there’s still room – so bring your own chair/blanket and we’ll see you there.

just a question – did the raffle change? at past movies there were multiple winners – last night though there was just one winner – just wondering if it had changed… if i had known that i would have bought more tickets!! had a great time at the movies!

Here’s all I know: Slightly different team ran things last night because Hotwire’s fabulous Lora wasn’t there to emcee. When they had the usual pre-movie meeting earlier in the week, having one big drawing rather than several drawings was settled on as the plan. I didn’t get there till it was almost raffle time so I don’t know if that was clearly communicated, and if not, apologies on behalf of the fab volunteers who put on the show – if it’s any consolation, with the smaller (yet still festive) crowd last night, the odds of winning may not have been much different. Thanks for buying tickets for the raffles – as I’m sure you know, all the $ goes to a local nonprofit – they rotate beneficiaries, and I believe last night was the Nature Consortium (whose Arts in Nature Festival is coming up next weekend at Camp Long!!!!) – TR

Loves the movie but I was also did not know that there was going to be only one winner. I ended up with a very upset 9 year old because I had to tell him to toss his tickets since they were not calling anymore numbers.

    See you next week

Sorry, comment time is over.
