Door-to-door alert: Late-night visit from … the cleaners?

Upper Morgan Junction, maybe Gatewood and/or High Point, be on the lookout – Marie just e-mailed about an odd late-night door-knocker in her neighborhood – read on:

Next door neighbor and I had someone knock loudly on our doors tonight, around 9:30 pm. 36th between Morgan and Holly. When I asked through the closed door ‘Who is it?’, a young sounding woman answered something that sounded like ‘Metzkler Cleaners’. I said ‘I don’t want to talk with you right now.’ She answered ‘Have a good night.’

Cannot imagine a legitimate company sending staff to knock on people’s doors at 9:30 at night. My neighbor didn’t see her (or them), nor did I.

  2. The person that was just at my door ten minutes ago was a guy from the same sounding company. He whistles before coming into the yard and as he leaves. I talked to my neighbor and after my neighbor said no thank you, he continued to try and talk to him. When he came to my door, I told him through the door I was not interested and he left. I live on 34th Ave SW near Juneau.

    He did have product in his hands that could have been some sort of cleaner.

  3. We just have a similar incident except it is late afternoon. There was a young black girl with a bottle of window cleaner on her hip and a planner in her hand. I told her I was not the owner and asked her what she was selling, but she never answered. She asked about me and about the owner all the while looking around behind me inside the house. Then she left.
