I have seen that boat parked there looking really classy with it’s blue tarp for a boat cover. Maybe a neighbor got tired of the eyesore and moved it to a storage yard where it belongs.

Just out of curiosity I took a virtual ‘drive’ thru the neighborhood and it looks like there’s all sorts of erm… ‘class’ going on there…

I’m sure the stripped jalopy has been towed since Google took their pictures, tho’.

MargL: The place across the street has been a problem for years. Did you notice the trailer with the psychedelic paint job with the blue tarp on the roof? Priceless!

None sent. I’ll ask. And please, “class” has nothing to do with whether you deserve to have something stolen, eyesore or not. Our house looks like hell from the outside, overgrown, peeling paint, junk in the backyard because we’re working our asses off and have no time to do anything about it. Doesn’t mean we lack “class” and deserve to be crime victims as a result. But if anyone believes there’s something in their neighborhood violating city codes

I don’t believe parking a boat outside your home is a violation. Even if it were, theft is theft.

I’m certainly sorry about the theft and no one deserves to have anything stolen, regardless of its condition or location. But I was a just little amused to see all the blue tarps and the car after reading Marty’s comment.

I built a garden bed out of bricks and cinder blocks. Not the prettiest, but functional and build out of free materials. However, I did think to myself “gee, I hope I don’t come out and find my car balanced on these bricks with the tires gone…”

Personally I don’t think the tires are worth stealing but who knows what goes thru the head of someone committing a crime.

(Glad to hear the boat is back!)
