West Seattle Crime Watch: Teacher’s bag taken, 2 other break-ins

Three Crime Watch reports to share – one condo break-in, two car break-ins (that’s where the teacher’s bag comes in) – read on:

From Justine:

This incident happened on 3/16th but I thought I should report this to the blog so that my neighbors can be aware and take extra safety precaution. On 3/16 during the day, someone broke the window of my condo, got inside and stole my laptop. This happened in the Westwood neighborhood (across the street from the mall), 9000 block of 25th Avenue and Trenton.

From Krystal:

A tenant in our building had his truck broken into and stereo stolen (Monday) night. The thieves smashed his passenger side window to get into the truck. He was parked in the alley between Fauntleroy and 40th, behind Bella Mente Early Learning center (@ 40th and Edmunds). Thought I would let others know.

And from Nicole:

I am a teacher in West Seattle and an instructor for Allstar Fitness. My car was broken into Sunday night and they took my workout bag with my music (at least 30 CDs), focus mitts, kick paddle, and a fitness journal. I’m not sure what they will do with these things (really…who wants to buy workout CDs) and my hope is that they just dumped the bag. Is there somewhere on the West Seattle Blog you could post this??? If
someone finds the bag, they will know where to return it. Thank you for your help.

This is the place. Also a reminder to everyone – PLEASE be sure to report to police any and all crime, no matter how small. They say this over and over again. You don’t have to call 911 if it’s not “happening now” – you can call the non-emergency number, 206-625-5011. Also note that the Admiral Neighborhood Association is sponsoring a crime-prevention workshop next Tuesday night (March 30), 7 pm at Hiawatha Community Center.

Search for two burlgars. One armed. I work in Highland Park. I just got a call from my boss saying I needed to leave work to go to our other office because there is a manhunt going in and around White Center. Apparently, it happened at about 11:20 a.m. in the 10700 block of 18th Avenue SW. Police say two men and a woman were inside when the homeowner spotted them. One of them was reportedly armed.

The suspects took off. One was captured but two others are still on the loose. One of them is still believed to be armed.

We have reported on that incident extensively over the past few hours in a separate story on both this site and White Center Now. Thanks.

Sorry, comment time is over.
