Suspected gunfire heard in two West Seattle neighborhoods

No word so far if either of these has been confirmed as “shots fired” – sometimes it turns out to be fireworks – but we’ve heard reports in the past few hours of suspected gunshots in two West Seattle neighborhoods: Alki and Pigeon Point. In the latter case, it just happened – we got a text, and have heard on the scanner that 911 is getting multiple reports; Alki was a few hours ago, according to commenters both here and on our Facebook page. SUNDAY AFTERNOON NOTE: We checked with the Southwest Precinct; Lt. Norm James, who would normally be notified of major incidents, said no confirmed case of “shots fired” had come to his attention so far.

Thought it was fireworks at Alki.

They were going off around 59th & Admiral. Woke myself, my wife, and my little girl couldn’t get back to sleep in her room ’cause she was scared.

Was bright enough to light up the house nextdoor to mine so I don’t think it was gunshots.

Honestly getting tired of this in the area. I think it’s the 4th or 5th time this has happened in the past year not including July 4th.

I heard 2 loud bangs from my home at 16th SW and Cloverdale at about 8pm, wasn’t sure if they were gunshots or fireworks. They scared the dogs and I listened, but I didn’t hear anything more.

what other info do you have for the pigeon point sound? it DID NOT sound like fireworks. 4 pops, evenly spaced apart.

Sorry, comment time is over.
