Westwood Village-area power outage update: Back by 3 am?

Finally got some official information about a power outage in the Westwood Village vicinity. We got a text about a “spotty” outage in a few places at the center earlier tonight – went over and looked around, didn’t see any obvious evidence of an outage. Seattle City Light didn’t have anything on its outage line. But now they’ve sent a short tweet saying 148 customers – businesses and residences – are affected by the outage, and they may not have the power back till 3 am. In a comment on this morning’s holiday supermarket hours story, “Voodoo” reports that QFC has had some effects – including the ice-cream case.

  1. I live just north of Westwood Village on Trenton. The power was just restored about a minute ago.

  2. I’m one block directly EAST of WV. Power just came back on 8 minutes ago. Huge explosion and everything went dark and quiet. Ahhh man, I was right in the middle of enjoying some electricty! I walked around a bit to see the extent of the outage , it just looked like it was our block. We got out all the candles, built a fire and watched Princess Mononoke on the computer until the battery gave out.
    Bummer to hear about the icecream.

  3. Thanks for the updates. When it’s fewer than several hundred “customers,” SCL doesn’t issue official media updates … so the best info, at least re: restoration, comes firsthand from folks in the zone. Here’s hoping everything stays connected TODAY and TONIGHT … as someone was reminding us the other night, there’ve been more than a few Thanksgivings where the bird’s in the oven and the power suddenly goes kerflooey … TR

  4. Just returned from 24 Hour Fitness with their power out, but open. (It made my workout interesting.) Club staff indicated power came back on for awhile then went out again. As of 3:00am the power was out from Marshalls south, at least in the mall.
