More future Alki condos? Three adjacent lots for sale

Listed for sale, either separately or all three for $1.9 million — three side-by-side Alki rentals (2 are duplexes, one single-family, according to county records) at 1752, 1756, 1758 Alki. If you can’t quite place them – you can see the area via Google Street View (which just launched in Seattle, if you hadn’t heard; WSB Forum members buzzed about it last week) – that’s what the image above is from – Google offers that embedding code if you have a website where you want to use it too (they hit all the arterials) – just click your cursor in the picture and you can move the picture around. By the way – the triplex that’s four parcels west of these three is for sale too.

Oooh. Is that the first instance of Google Street View being used in the WSB? How cool and interesting to be able to look at something in such a dynamic way.

Played around with Google Street View when it came up in the Forums last week but didn’t even think to try the embed code till tonight. Couldn’t have snagged a decent static real-estate shot of the Alki parcels at night, so it was going up as a text-only blurb till this idea hit … but even if it had been daytime, in some circumstances, this will be better than the static real-estate shot! Particularly in a scenic pan-able zone like Alki …

The Zillow version is kinda creepy and an invasion of privacy if you ask me. Hmm. Lets look at houses and see which cars are in the driveway. If they’re gone, presto! The bad guys can figure out when you’re not there. The street closeups are little too much with out enough editing.

Um, Joe, it’s not real time.

Two of my good friends live in one of the three houses for sale so we are hoping they take a while to sell :)

Has there ever been a time when there is a shortage of condos on Alki? Not sure there is a large “demand” for them. So I’ll hope that the houses stay!

Um casellli, what’s your point? I see every car on our street and driveway’s; people in thier yards if they were out there the day the photo’s were shot. Our neighbor’s garage door is open and you can scan inside it. Would perps look for kid’s toys in the yards and maybe drop by? How about shopping for cars to steal? Or other pieces of interest street side. Is that private enough for you? Sorry I had to explain it in such detail.

Dear Joe the Plumber, if you can’t handle modern times, maybe you need to go back to the 80’s.

  • Joetheplumber November 11, 2008 (8:18 pm)

Yes, modern times include child abductions, breakins, burglaries, and other people without a sense of precaution and safety. Sorry to hear you missed the ’80’s, we set the trends for you today!

WSB, can you please post a Google Street View of Joe’s house so I can go over and give him a piece of my mind? Thx.

    Anytime brother. Any time.

Sorry, comment time is over.
