Ah, beach-volleyball weather, suddenly seems like a distant memory with thunder rumbling in the distance again tonight … WSB was the “media partner” for Saturday’s EVP Beach Volleyball Pro Tour stop at Alki, and tonight we have the final word on not only the winners, but also how/when you can see it on TV – that plus more pix ahead:

In the turquoise top, that’s West Seattleite Shauna Causey from Comcast doing interviews. She sends this wrapup:

The men’s and women’s winning teams from EVP’s 2007 Seattle event successfully defended their title again this year. In the women’s championship, Alki’s Bri Murray playing with Wendy Stammer, a traveling player from Oregon, defeated Alki residents Carol Horne and Brandi Travess. The match was best of three; Murray and Stammer won in two.

The men’s championship game was a close match, going to three games. In the first game, Seattle residents Joe Tassia and Matt Mueller handily beat Alki resident Chris Hannemann and his player from Florida, Dana Camacho. Hannemann and Camacho came back to win the second and third games.

If you missed the game, both championship matches will be televised on Comcast On Demand in two weeks under “Get Local.” Comcast On Demand is a library of 7,000 national and local shows available at any time, many being unique programs that would not otherwise be televised. Besides filming the pro volleyball event, the last time Comcast TV crews visited West Seattle was in 2005 when the crew covered a 200-person volunteer event at Chief Sealth High School.

Here’s a shot of Hannemann in action, blocking Seattle’s Tim Dozal in one of the earlier games:

Think of the presents you’ve brought
    Any merry little thought
Think of Christmas, think of snow
Think of sleigh bells Here we go!
Like a reindeer in the sky

You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!

Soon you’ll zoom all around the room
All it takes is faith and trust
But the thing that’s a positive must
Is a little bit of pixie dust
The dust is a positive must

You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!

Sorry, comment time is over.
