Reader Recommendation Request: Local housecleaners
November 17, 2007 at 10:05 pm | In Reader recommendations, West Seattle businesses | 15 CommentsLast time we asked for RRRs on house-cleaning services, we paired it with an unrelated request which stirred up most of the discussion and stole the spotlight. Now with holiday guests looming, we have a new RRR on the topic — Lisa is looking for a house-cleaning/maid service based in, or willing to come to, West Seattle. Please leave your recommendation as a comment; previous RRRs and responses are archived here.

I was the one who placed the last request with WSB. We tried a variety of services (Merry Maids, Dana’s, etc.) but they often have high turnover and we didn’t feel comfortable having new strangers in our house every month. So, after asking around some more, we finally found a WONDERFUL housecleaner name Maricela (206.387.3108). She came to us highly recommended by a client who has been using her services for over five years now. While Maricela charges about $10.00 more than most chain services and requires you to have cleaning supplies on-hand, she’s really sweet, very thorough, and plans to continue cleaning houses long-term. So, if you’re looking for someone who does a great job AND is both trustworthy and stable, I recommend giving her a call.

We also just received a note from Dave, who e-mailed his recommendation instead of posting a comment: “Lyn Wiley is a good referral for someone looking for a housecleaner. She is back east for Thanksgiving week but a message can be left on her email. Phone 206 923 0625. Email address: lynwiley (at) quidnunc.net. She has references and says she is Reliable, Respectful and Trustworthy. Best of all, she lives in West Seattle.”

We use April Lane’s Home Cleaning: http://www.aprillanescleaning.com and are more than satisfied with the results and service. April is a West Seattler, too.

Raquel Keating, and the staff of Keating’s Cleaning Services, 206-898-7388, get my vote. They’re yet another West-Seattle based and headquartered business, too.

Husband and Wife team Walgney and Saria Dasilva do an exceptional job, and are well priced.
Best to email them, walgneylindo@hotmail.com, or call on 206-856-9393.

Has anyone worked with (or heard of) Angela’s Maids? They are apparently a West Seattle based company too.

I have a wonderful housecleaner Kim. We have worked with her for over 9 years and we completely trust her in our house. She lives on Vashon so she is local. Her email address is kimmacus@yahoo.com

I have used April Lane’s Cleaning Service as well. The cleaners arrived at the designated time, worked very hard, and were very polite and considerate through the whole process. They even had someone show up to check up on them. I intend to use them again.

I have a wonderful house cleaner named Christopher Webb. He charges $20 per hour and is worth every penny. He is looking for more homes in West Seattle. He can be contacted via e-mail at cleanchristopher@gmail.com.

I have used Ricardo’s Rivera’s cleaning services for several years and can highly recommend him. He is very thorough, kind, good-natured, and goes the extra distance to help you out. Pet friendly, too. Reach him at: 206-938-3465, or pineight@hotmail.com

Be careful that the person you hire is insured. If they get hurt in your house, and the only place they can get money is you, they may come searching.

I would like to share with you my sincere feeling about Louise Binion and her loyal service. Without question she’s the best. She is reliable, responsible, honest and truly wonderful. Her help is beyond belief. After enjoying the benefit of all her talent for 10 years, I’m still amazed.
Sincerely,
Sandy
