The West Seattle Little League renovation project at Alki Point’s Bar-S Playfield just got a big boost — a $100,000 Boeing/Mariners Care Athletic Field Grant. The official press release says an official presentation is planned at Safeco Field this Friday night during a ceremony before the Mariners-Rangers’ game.

  1. WSLL is truly one of the best organizations I’ve ever been a part of! This is wonderful news for many WS girls and boys!

  2. As a former WSLL coach, that is wonderful, wonderful news! Drainage on the field is a HUGE issue, so hopefully they’ll put the money toward it to solve that problem. The bullpens and mounds also need to be whipped into shape, new sod laid down (after the drainage is put in), new fences put in and some nice yellow foul poles (or fair poles) put in. But this is just great news for a great league, and especially for all the kids!

  3. I guess it would help if I clicked on the press release. (Duh.) The money looks like it’ll be well spent!
