“Attack” report a hoax

Just seen on tv, can’t find it online yet – the Chief Sealth student who said he was attacked just offcampus at lunchtime last Friday, now apparently says he made up the story – it was some kind of “initiation,” not a random attack.

Will keep an eye out for more followup on this.

It was just on the news tonight. Seems the student ducked a punch in this gang initiation, and his mouth went into a fence, knocking out his teeth.

That makes much more sense. One of the scariest things people seem to fear is the truly random non-provoked attack. But in reality those are pretty rare. The vast vast majority of fights/attacks you hear or read about our lovers spats, involve drugs, or gangs, or general heated exchanges (angry drivers). The odds of just walking down the street and having someone attack you at random is pretty low. Not to say it never happens but it is rare. That’s why when I see this kind of thing it bugs me.

I don’t know what makes me more nervous, the fact that it might of been random, or the fact that we have gang initiations going on in West Seattle.

I loved watching the news reports and when they showed the area they showed the back end of the townhomes at West Ridge Park, where I used to live, and which is right in back of Sealth. So someone can now buy a $300k townhome and have the convenience of gang initiations right in their back yard!

Yeah aint it grand? Oh, and don’t forget, the off white fence now splattered with blood as shown on the news. The byproduct of this ruckus. Cool. Man, so according to the news he was there for an initiation (to initiate or be initiated) and while ducking a punch knocked his own teeth out. Good God that must have hurt, especially to injure yourself like that. Might have knocked hiz own azz out too, playah. OUCH! If there was video, it would be on ebaumsworld in a second.

That would be a good selling point for the real estate agent to put into the sales literature, Sue!
