WS Lost/Found Pet Watch: Dog gone near High Point

izzy.jpgWe’ll set up a special section soon, now that people who have lost or found pets are finding out this is another good place to get the word out. In the meantime, this just in: Izzy the 10-pound Cairn Terrier (photo right), described by her people as “shy but very friendly” and “looks like Toto from The Wizard of Oz,” disappeared from her High Point home sometime Friday. Izzy was wearing a pink collar with name and owner info. There’s a reward out for her safe return. 937-5693.

You might want to pass the word to the High Point Blog, too…although I’ll eat a shoe if he’s not a subscriber to the WS Blog!

sadly, that blog seems to be extremely inactive. we check frequently in case it starts up again.

WSB, are you going to make Rhonda eat a Keds, simply on the assumption that the owner of the Highpoint Blog may not be reading this Blog, if they are not keeping their own up to date? :p

Never. Rhonda and her blogs (Beach Drive Blog, Mortgage Porter, and other ones she contributes to) are too cool. But if it were anyone else … ;)

When they say “disappear” do they mean, got out, or was taken? I just closed Friday on my place at High Point and am curious. I will also keep my eyes out. We don’t actually move until the 20th of August but we are up there painting and whatnot, and I am walking my Italian greyhound, Sophia, up there a lot.

If someone hadn’t already started a High Point blog I would have…I also noticed it wasn’t very up-to-date. Guess I will have to stick with the two I have now!

It is unclear to me how she got out… it is always a possiblity she was taken. The vet offered up the notion that given her size an eagle might have nabbed her (but I find that unlikely due to a large tree’s concealing nature and the fact that I have never seen eagles in the area). Welcome to the neighborhood!

GOOD NEWS! We were contacted last night from a good samaritan that believed his girlfriend had found our dog. Suprisingly, they picked her up rather close to our home – she was in good health but a little emotionally drained by her time away from home. Food, bath, and sleep was all she needed to get back to normal… AVID microchip scan confirmed her identity. Thanks to the WSB for your neighborly help and bandwith!

Found a dog in west Seattle on 55th Ave and Dakota. Brown and some white on the chest. Male. Lab? Colar but no tags, black with grey squares. Followed us around for a couple of hours this evening. Got him some water, he was really thirsty. Nobody we could find recognised him. We walked him around the area for a couple more hours, still no takers. Is anybody missing such a dog?

Sorry, comment time is over.
