Just hours remain to get in on Night Out

Tomorrow’s the deadline to sign up your block for a night of crime-fighting, community-building, street-closing fun: Night Out 2007 is Tuesday, August 7, 6-10 pm. Find out how to sign up for it here. If you’re in the “Weed & Seed” grant area of South Delridge/downtown White Center, you might be able to get a small grant for supplies (not food); click here to e-mail the folks responsible for that. If you’re in the Beach Drive area, BDB has been working to organize a get-together there. If you’re in Fairmount Springs (northeast of Morgan Junction), their invite is online. Pigeon Point has a location posted too. Wherever you are in WS, if you have a Night Out get-together, take a pic that night, send it to us, we would love to post it in our follow-ups.

I would love to see a list of WS Nights Out. I have tried to get one from the cops in the past, but with little luck.

Also, the 39th Avenue gang (between Southern and Monroe) will be having their usual several-blocks party – we’re hoping SFD shows up – two years ago they showed up, hooked up their hoses and let kids and adults try out a full-pressure nozzle. It took up to two fire fighters to hold the kids against that kind of pressure and at least one for each adult. An amazing experience – we were washing the street a full block away. Plus, there’s the possibility that one of the local adolescent bands will make a live appearance.

There will be a block party/fundraiser/workraiser at the Ercolini Park site at 48th and Alaska. There are flyers at the sign on the corner of the park. COME ON OVER!!!!
