MIA (missing in aftermath)

Commenting on a post below, a reader asks a question that also occurred to us while checking out the “Webster pocket” earlier — what happened to the cow bull atop John’s Deli at 35th/Webster? Storm casualty, put away for safekeeping, or … ? If nobody out there knows, we’ll check. In the meantime, heading out for our early-evening pocket survey (even after so many years up north, it’s still weird to call 4:40 pm “early evening”).

It does seem dark, but take heart! The solstice came about a half-hour ago, at 4:20 PM, Pacific Standard Time.

Thanks for the updates on Morgan Junction – it’s been extremely helpful, given that CityLight doesn’t want to report much of anything and we have a 4 mo. old. Sister’s been a great host in Shoreline…

I spoke to John this morning (Fri). The cow blew off during the storm and landed near the dumpster in back. It is still there now, but he has plans to put the cow back up Sat. He didn’t realize he has made “the blog” and seemed impressed.

Well, when my daughter was about a year old we drove by and she pointed at the bull/steer atop of John’s and happily called out “pig!”.

Steph – thank you so much for checking; we hadn’t gotten a chance to do that yet. Will keep an eye out for it on Saturday and grab photographic proof once it’s back in all its glory …
