Alert for late-latte lovers

Caffe Ladro is closing at 5 tonight for some sort of annual employees’ event. This is bound to be especially disappointing to West Seattle’s Finest, some of whom take coffee breaks there many a night. (What is it about CL? The fine coffee, or the convenient parking right on Cali Ave, easy pipeline to the next call? Just curious.)

I wish they were in the Alaska/Cali junction! Best coffee in Seattle! Great people too!

Can we stop with this “Cali Ave” “Cali Junction”… I know everyone is trying to be hip here, but in my 30 years of living in West Seattle, I have never heard anyone refer to “California Avenue” as “Cali Ave”.

It’s probably a dead giveaway that you are not from here – right up there with refering to I-5 as “the 5” and Pike Place Market as “Pike’s Market” or “Pike Market”.

Hi – thanks for the comment – don’t know about KLH but I’ve been in West Seattle more than 15 years, so I’m not exactly a newcomer. Never heard anybody call it that either but abbreviation seems to be the verbal currency these days, so I decided to be the first. If I’m the only, that’s OK too … word play is always fun.

Moved into WS six months ago (but am a Seattle native). I was excited to have (what I had been told was) good coffee within walking distance of my apartment. I was so disappointed… my latte had horrible bubbly foam and bitter espresso. As a WS barista (no, not at Starbucks or Tully’s), I don’t understand what the hype is surrounding Ladro. Ick, ick, ick.

Sorry, comment time is over.
